What happens to my files when membership ends?

Short answer: Nothing happens to them. A Litesum application may refuse new paid work after a membership ends, but it never damages, encrypts or deletes a file, and everything already on your disk stays yours.

The rule

After a subscription ends an application may block new paid processing. It must never damage, encrypt or delete customer files. That rule is part of how every Litesum application is built, not a setting.

What "paid work" means, per application

• Litesum Photo: saving and exporting. Save, Save As, Export As, Export for Press, Print and Batch are refused when the licence does not cover Photo; opening, editing in memory, undo, settings, presets and crash recovery keep working; nothing on disk is ever changed by a refusal.
• Litesum Enhance: new enhancements. Everything already exported is an ordinary image file that belongs to you, and Enhance never modifies an original.
• Litesum Motion: rendering and exporting. When a membership lapses, Motion refuses Render As, the render queue and any file written for delivery. Editing, playback, scopes, saving and reopening your project all continue, and no project or media file on your computer is touched.
• Litesum Web: publishing and exporting. When a membership lapses, Web refuses uploading a site and Export a Copy. Editing, preview, validation, saving and reopening your site all continue, and no file in your site folder is touched.
• Litesum Library: nothing is gated yet. The intention is that browsing, viewing and searching are never paid work and that exporting, batch work and printing are; whether conversions, OCR and saving an edited PDF count is decided before release, and the settled rule is stated here in the same words.
• Publisher: no code yet; its page will state its rule, in the same plain words, before it is offered for sale.

Your originals

No Litesum application modifies an original file at any time. Enhance writes every result as a new file; Photo's native format is separate from any file you opened.
